Idaho is one of our "Gold Star" open carry states. They have full preemption of state laws, open carry is increasingly common and open carry is legal in motor vehicles. Please see http://opencarry.org/
What about CCW while hunting
Idaho's hunting-regulations fact sheet states that "you have the right to bear arms as long as you are not actively using [a personal-defense handgun] to hunt..."
Does Idaho recognize concealed weapons permits from other states?
Yes. However, while in Idaho, you must carry the permit on your person at all times when you are carrying a concealed weapon. (Idaho Code Section 8-3302(12)(g))
"(g) Any person who has a valid permit from a state or local law enforcement agency or court authorizing him to carry a concealed weapon. A permit issued in another state will only be considered valid if the permit is in the licensee's physical possession."
